New Music Monday #5

Hey guys, it's Monday again! You know what that means! Another week of cool music to jam to! Hopefully! You should listen to the music I post, because it's always so awesome if I do say so myself!

Over the weekend we went to lots of garage sales. The neighborhood my job is in was having a neighborhood wide garage sale and so we checked out some. A lot of them just looked like nothing but baby clothes as we drove by. We didn't even bother to stop at those. But we did find some goodies. I got a really nice globe! It was in perfect condition! My collection is growing :)

After that we went to the Human Society in town. We saw this beautiful white female German Shepherd named Vienna. She was only a year and had been at the shelter for a day. She was so sweet, even though I'm sure some of that was her just being so timid to her new surroundings. We brought my dog over to see how they reacted. They didn't seem to hate each other which is great, but they didn't play much either. We decided we would bring Bevo over one more time and see how that goes. I guess bevo is the final decider on if we get Vienna or not haha. It does make me happy though that even if we don't adopt her, I know someone else will! :)

Anyways, enough of me rambling; here is this weeks songs! Most are just random songs, except the first one which I have known about for a while!

I love this song so much. It has so much culture packed into one song. The lyrics are great. It just puts you in a great mood! Hope you enjoy it too!

New Music Monday #4

Good morning! Yep, that is me up there. Or so it feels like it right now. For a long time actually. It is much more than that, which I will make a separate post for that later this week. I over think a lot. About everything. And being a sensitive person on top of that makes things ten times harder for me. Sometimes you lose yourself within it all. Sometimes you lose track of reality. And the silliest part of it all is that sometimes taking time to yourself and thinking can help you realize the problems in your life. It's all one big circle of irony. Life is funny like that.

One thing that helps me when I am down.. is music. Good, authentic music, full of emotion. Music is help people in bigger ways than they really know. It has helped me so many times. More than I can remember. That's why I make this post. To help people. To put people in a good mood. To give them a great start to their week. You never know what people are going through, through their smiles, or their blogs, or their texts. You just never know. But I do that, that music can most certainly help with that. I want to help someone out with the simplest thing that is music, just like others have helped me out with their music.

Here is this weeks list..

Ben Howard makes such beautiful music, and this is one of them. Definitely someone to check out no matter what genre you like.

New Music Monday #3

Hello, it is Monday! Oh I know, the tortuous Monday. Back to school/work. Back to reality. (Totally starting singing Lose yourself when I wrote that) What a better way to get your week started with some new music to listen to? I know I love learning new and intriguing music. Hopefully you do too! Which is why I do this list on Mondays. New music for the new week! This list of music could behold your new favorite jam and you would never know. Or maybe next weeks list will. That's why you should come back every Monday and see what I have for you guys!!

On a side note, is anyone else watch Switched at Birth?

I am literally obsessed with this show! It's about two girls who were switched at birth and the struggles the families go through after they discover they had been switched. One of the girls is deaf and so a whole part of the show is done is sign language. It is so awesome! Because of this show I have checked out books on ASL and I am really wanting to learn. But even the show itself is so amazing. Lots of drama but very family oriented. ABC Family always puts out great shows. You all should most definitely check this show out on Netflix, you will not be disappointed!

Anyways, here is this weeks New Music Monday! Please let me know if you liked any of these songs! It would make me so happy knowing someone discovered a new song! :)

You know how to option to listen to the song through Spotify and Youtube!
I don't know much about Portugal, The Man, but from what I have heard, they sound pretty good. Very unique. I really enjoy this song. If you have any other suggestions from them, let me know!

New Music Monday #2

This weekend has been crazy. I have had the flu. Still have it actually. I've been downing flu medicine the past two days (the recommended dose of course). I'm trying so hard to get better because I don't want to miss any work. I am not the type of person to miss work. I know it's a little different with my daycare job. I'm around little kids all day long and I don't want to pass anything to anyone else. And I need enough energy to keep up with them too you know? That's why I'm trying my hardest to get better

Anyways, here is a second round of New Music Monday! Let me know if there is any genre's y'all want me to look at!

I just discovered Unknown Mortal Orchestra. They actually seem pretty cool. I get onto a play list and I just randomly click on songs. Some turn out cool, like this one!

New Music Monday #1

Hey guys! Hope your Monday is going fantastic. I know I didn't want to go back to work after Easter. It's so hard going back to your normal schedule after a holiday. Especially the ones where you eat 50 lbs of food. Like sorry I just gained 20 pounds, I need to have a whole day to "hit the gym" and work this off haha! What did y'all do yesterday for Easter? I love hearing peoples traditions!

So I had this bright idea yesterday about starting another weekly segment. I'm a spotify addict, if that's a thing. I love music in general but something about Spotify that makes me want to discover music a lot more than normal. I would say I know a great bit of every kind of music but I know that isn't always the case. And I'm sure there is lots of people out there that want to discover awesome music but don't have the time or means.

And that is what I wanted to do with segment. To show you the music I find and/or jam to on a weekly basis. I will have music of all genres. Mostly all. I'm not going to torture myself with music I absolutely hate haha.

If there is a particular genre you would like for me to listen to, tell me! I will post the new songs/albums/artists I dig each week. I haven't thought of a set number yet, and it may just be different each week. But I think this is a great idea!

To be able to listen to right off of this page you need to be logged into spotify. I figure most of the world has a spotify account. If not, I will be adding a youtube or band site link below for an alternative way to listen to the song!

And with that being said, here we go!

I first discovered Lou Pine at SXSW this year. Jesse and I were wandering up and down 6th street and finally I turned to him and said let's just go in somewhere, I don't care where. And we walked into a bar and Lou Pine was playing. I instantly fell in love with them. I think they are better live, so if you ever hear of them in your area, definitely go see them!
